Geneva’s challenges and opportunities (live interview by Philippe D. Monnier)
Philippe Fleury has two Master's degrees (literature and law) and he was admitted to the Geneva Bar in 2002. He holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies in accounting from the Zug School of Finance, as well as an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.
Philippe Fleury started out as a trainee lawyer, before pursuing his professional activities with the Swiss Federal Department of Finance, then with KPMG since 2007, where he has held the position of Head of KPMG's Geneva office since 2020. Philippe Fleury joined FER Geneva in January 2023 and took over as CEO in June 2023.
Philippe Fleury is also colonel of the Swiss army in charge of military protection at Geneva airport and has held various positions within the Geneva “Le Centre” (ex-PDC) political Party. He is a member of the boards of economiesuisse, Union Patronale Suisse and USAM (Chamber of Crafts and Trades).
FER Geneva, established in 1928, is an umbrella employers' organization that defends the interests 29,000 members including 80 trade associations, multinational corporations, and independent workers. It publishes its newspaper Entreprise romande.
